FOB planning

Build area, height budget, supply types and staging. Community tips, clearly labelled.

BULKHEAD has not published official building numbers. Everything on this page is community knowledge or planner configuration and may be wrong for the current patch (0.11). Values come from data release 2026.09.1.

The build area

In the planner, a FOB opens a 120 × 120 m square build area (half-extent 60 m). This value is community-sourced, not officially confirmed. The planner does not allow a FOB inside another FOB’s build area. The maximum number of FOBs per base is unknown, so the planner does not limit it.

  • Deployed from a FOB kit (vendor price $7,500 since the Season 1 changelog — official).
  • A FOB cannot be placed inside a building, a main base or another FOB’s build area (community-sourced).

Height budget

The planner flags structures above 15 m. This limit is community-sourced, not officially confirmed. Tall structures such as towers and bunker stacks are the ones most likely to hit it.

Supplies

Community guides describe several supply types: building supplies for structures, plus ammo, fuel and mechanical supplies used by support structures (for example the refuel station draws on fuel and the repair station on mechanical supplies). These descriptions are community-sourced. The planner only totals building supply cost per structure, using the values from the buildables database.

Stage your build (community tip)

  • Stage 1: FOB and the essentials you need immediately. Keep this stage cheap so the base is useful before the full cost is in.
  • Stage 2: an outer line of Hesco or sandbags covering the likely approach.
  • Stage 3: bunkers, shelters and support structures.
  • Stage 4: expensive defences, once the base is holding.

Use the stage totals in the builder to see how many supplies each step needs.

Vehicle access (community tip)

Leave a lane for vehicles if you plan to use refuel or repair stations. In the planner data a gate is 6 m wide (dimensions community-sourced, not officially confirmed), so plan wall runs in multiples that leave a clean gap for it. Some players keep the lane straight so vehicles do not have to turn inside the walls.

Spacing with the measure tool

  • Press M and measure lanes, gaps between structures and the distance to the edge of the build area.
  • Check sight lines from defences in walk mode before committing to a layout.
  • Keep structures that need to be reached quickly (radio, support) away from walls that will draw fire. This is a community tip, not a game rule.
